This asteroid contains elements essential for life

Samples from the asteroid Ryugu shed light on the early evolutionary stages of the solar system and possibly life.

Researchers examining rock samples from the asteroid Ryugu, returned to Earth by Japan’s Hayabusa-2 mission in December 2020, have published the results of their chemical analysis. These parts of the celestial object are the most pristine ever examined and contained Amino acids from which life on earth could have arisen.
